Greetings UAW family, I hope you and your family are all well in these challenging times.  Our elections were completed on June 17, 2026 and here are the results:

Chair – Marta Bobillo, Vice Chair Ofelia Glasgow, Recording Secretary Sam Warren, Financial Secretary Veronica Johnson, and Sergeant-At-Arms Greg Burnett were all elected unopposed. The 3 trustees elected were Pauline Wireman, Carmen Tejeda, and Hannah Fox.

The membership has voted to have all July activities and events suspended and also August 3rd evening Bingo suspended. Our Annual UAW Local 602 Retirees Picnic and Bingo is at Francis Park on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.  Retirees’ may bring spouse or one (1) significant other. Please RSVP by calling the hall at (517) 372-4626 no later than Monday, August 10, 2026 by 4:00pm for headcount.

With a heavy heart, we lost Marilyn Coulter on June 15, 2026. Marilyn has been a pillar to our Local since 1978 by educating our membership on culture and ethnicity and starting our Taste of Black History, Latino and Diversity programs.  Marilyn also mentored so many of us and served in multiple capacities within the UAW and Community.  Sister, you will always be in our hearts and missed by so many.

Make sure to vote when you receive ballots for both the National and Regional UAW elections this fall.  Please make sure that your address is up-to-date with Local 602. Also please remember to Vote, or return your absentee ballot, for the Primaries on August 4, 2026.

Have a good and safe summer with your family.  Remember we are not twenty years old anymore so do not do any crazy activities.  Make sure to hydrate in this heat. Be kind to each other because we do not know the last time we might see each other. Check on friends and family.
